Gyms are amazing in that they have tons of equipment. There are cardio machines, free weights, weight machines, specialty equipment like sleds and things like that, and more. But never forget that you can get a great workout with nothing but your body. Perhaps some monkey bars or chinup bars, parallel bars, and similar equipment, but your body can give you all the resistance you need. Of course I have nothing against weights and equipment. Obviously I do believe in using it, but I also always make time to add in bodyweight workouts into my routine. So how do we go…

WORKING OUT FOR 50 AND OLDER
I remember as a teenager and in my early 20s, when I thought about being 50 years old it seemed so far away. I thought for sure I wouldn't be working out the same way. Well here I am at almost 51 years old and I'm still doing my thing pretty much the same way as I was in my 20s. But there are some differences in how things must be done that you can't just ignore. First, recovery is an issue. Like it or not, you can't recover the same way in your 50s as you did I your 20s.…

LET'S PUNCH THE HEAVY BAG!
The heavy bag is certainly one of the best pieces of equipment you can use. It's a fantastic cardio workout, develops explosiveness, power, timing, and so much more. And of course it's essential to develop your strikes for all martial arts. It is important however to use it properly. Learn to form a fist correctly and also use the proper energy. AT HOME BODYWEIGHT WORKOUT
Here's an at-home bodyweight workout. I did use a set of chest expanders. However that could be modified for other bodyweight only exercises. Chest expanders are a very underused piece of equipment and I always bring them with me when I travel due to their light weight and portability. Anyway watch the video to see the workout! And for more information about Online or In-Home Personal Training, click here

WORK THOSE DELTOIDS!
Here's a home shoulder workout you can do and all it takes is a pair of dumbbells. They don't need to be heavy since we're using trisets moving from one exercise to the next back to back. There is a saying that goes "You don't need a heavy weight. You just need to make a light weight feel heavy" and that's exactly what we're doing here. We start with Dumbbell Circles which was an exercise that legendary trainer Vince Gironda used to teach. From there we move onto Dumbbell Pull-Ins. I can't remember when or where I learned this exercise, but…
