Here's a circuit workout I did consisting of 10 exercises. The exercises are arranged in such a way as to promote blood flow back and forth from top to bottom. So that means we're alternating an upper body or core exercise with a lower body exercise. Because we're moving the bllod around, we're training our circulatory system as well as our cardiovascular system, and of course our muscular system. This is based on the original circuit workout known then as PHA (Peripheral Heart Action) as developed by Bob Gajda. 1. Pull Ups 2. Squats 3. Dips 4. Kickouts 5. Body Rows 6. Step Ups 7. Fist Pushups 8.…

TRX TRAINING
The TRX is one of the most versatile pieces of equipment you can find anywhere! It's adapted from Gymnastics rings. Although you don't have to do the Iron Cross on them! The beauty of it is that you can adjust the difficulty of the exercises simply by moving your feet. Doing so will change the angle of your body and therefore change the resistance or percentage of your bodyweight you're lifting. The TRX has two mounting options. One can be in a doorway and the other can be around a bar of some type. This could be a tree branch, a…

TRIPLE THREAT WORKOUT
This is a workout I call Triple Threat! Take three exercises, do each one for three reps, and do it three times. All this counts as one set. Repeat for as many sets as desired. It's tough but effective as always! For this example I'm doing Squats, Pushups, and Chin Ups. But you can pick any exercises you wish! Here's a link for the video. https://youtu.be/vPj8o5nXT-A

CONDENSED WORKOUTS
Far too often, people believe that you need tons of exercises to get good results in fitness. Of course if you like to do a variety of exercises, go ahead. I'm not saying that can't work. I'm just saying that it isn't the only way. Condensed or Limited Programs can work great. Some of the all time great strongmen in history built themselves up on only a handful of exercises. Paul Anderson who is considered one of the strongest men of all time, built himself up primarily on the Overhead Press and the Squat. The first Mr. Olympia, Larry Scott,…

BIG 10 BODYWEIGHT CIRCUIT
Here's a bodyweight circuit that can be done at home with minimal or zero equipment. For these exercises I used a doorway chinup bar, a pair of Lebert Equalizers, and a stability ball. However these can be modified to be done with things you have at home already. This is done for either 2 or 3 circuits and the reps are counted for this one. Timing your sets can work well sometimes, but it can encourage poor form sometimes. Therefore I generally favour counting reps over timing. Anyway here are the exercises along with the video. For more information on…

MARTIAL ARTS FOOTWORK TRAINING
Footwork is without question the most important element of martial arts. It's the foundation for everything you do. One expression my Boxing coach always likes saying is "You box with your legs, not your hands!". Anyway in the video I go over some basic exercises that can be used to develop the footwork. There are four drills in total. 1. Half Step Drill 2. Full Step Drill 3. Two Step Method 4. Four Corner Stepping

AT HOME BODYWEIGHT WORKOUT
Here's an at-home bodyweight workout. I did use a set of chest expanders. However that could be modified for other bodyweight only exercises. Chest expanders are a very underused piece of equipment and I always bring them with me when I travel due to their light weight and portability. Anyway watch the video to see the workout! WORKOUT OF THE WEEK - BODYWEIGHT SUPERSET / TRISET WORKOUT
Weights are great to use, but it's entirely possible to get a full body workout using nothing but your bodyweight, a few simple pieces of equipment, and a lot of heart! It can be done right in the comfort of your own home, on vacation, or anywhere else. So for today's workout, I have a combination of supersets and trisets. For those that don't know, supersets is a technique where you take two exercises and perform them back to back. Trisets is the same thing, but it involves three exercises. More than three exercises becomes a circuit, Here's the program SUPERSET 1 TRX Rows Clap Pushups TRISET 1 TRX Lateral…

BEAR CRAWL MIRROR GAME
This is a really fun gamified version of the Bear Crawl. The goal is to stay at the same range to your partner and mirror their actions. If they move backwards, you must move forwards. If they move to their left, you must move to your right. It can be a bit confusing, but it does test your reaction, coordination, and you're training your core the entire time!
