Ladder training is a workout technique that I absolutely love. It can be used as a main workout, but I believe it's best used as a starter or a finisher.

In the case of this video, I chose to do it as a finisher. The specific exercises you choose aren't that important. Although, they should be metabolic or multi-joint exercises to take advantage of the natural growth hormone release, EPOC (afterburn), and other benefits of such exercises.

So how do we go about performing ladders? You climb them! Seriously it's a rep ladder. Reps will either go up or down (ascending or descending). In the case of this video, they're descending reps. So here's how you do it!

Take two or more exercises and do them as a superset, triset, or circuit. Perform 5 reps of each one. Of course you can do more reps if you wish, but this is to just explain the structure. After the first round, do 4 reps, then 3, 2, and finally 1. For the ascending version, you would obviously reverse it. Start with 1 rep and then build up to 5 with each set.

A tough but effective workout method!
